The World Federation of Direct Selling Associations (WFDSA) has released its 2012 global direct sales statistics. In its document titled “Global Sales by Sales Method – 2012” the WFDSA outlined retail sales by sales method and the gender of direct selling community.
Globally, 80 percent of retail sales are sold through the person-to-person sales method. Party plan, classes and groups represent 18 percent of retail sales by sales method globally.
In regards to gender, women represent 75 percent of the global direct selling industry.
